α-Galactosidase is an enzyme that catalyzes hydrolysis of the terminal α-galactosyl moieties of oligosaccharides and polysaccharides. These saccharides are abundant in plants, particularly inlegumes and vegetables that make up important sources of food and feed.

Cellulase enzyme can be used in  commercial food processing , textile and household cleaning and the pulp and paper industry. Cellulase enzymes has also been used for biofuel production.
